The Kokama of Brazil

The Kokama of Brazil, numbering approximately 9,600 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are an Amazonian people whose ancestors migrated from central Brazil to Peru's Ucayali River between the 9th and 16th centuries, later moving back to Brazil's upper Solimoes in the 20th century, reviving their suppressed Cocama identity since the 1980s. They mostly adhere to Animism and Portuguese is their primary language.
