They are an Austronesian-speaking ethnic group indigenous to the island country of Madagascar They are an Indigenous people, in the Malagasy people cluster of the Malay Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Ethnoreligion. They primarily speak Malagasy, Merina.
