They are an ethnolinguistic community of Cameroonand can also be known as Ndara, Wandala, Mandara Montagnard. They are an Indigenous people, in the Chadic people cluster of the Sub-Saharan African affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Islam - Folk. They primarily speak Wandala.
