The Katla of Sudan, numbering approximately 35,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are described as a Nuba people of the Katla Hills in Sudan's South Kordofan, one of some fifty distinct ethnic groups sheltered in the Nuba Mountains, speaking the namesake language of the small Katla-Tima family They are an Indigenous people, with Katla as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the Nuba Mountains people cluster of the Sub-Saharan African Peoples. They mostly adhere to Sunni Islam and Katla is their primary language.
