They are an ethnolinguistic subgroup of the Tuareg Amazigh, indigenous to the Tamanrasset province of southeastern Algeria and neighboring areas in Libya and Niger. They are an Indigenous people in the Tuareg people cluster of the Arab Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Tamahaq, Tahaggart and their primary religion is Sunni Islam.
