They are an indigenous Northwest Caucasian ethnic group native to the historical country-region of Circassia and can also be known as Circassian, Cherkess. They are an Diaspora people, in the Caucasus people cluster of the Eurasian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Islam - Sunni. They primarily speak Adyghe.
