They are Arabic‑speaking Egyptians whose identity crystallized after the Arab‑Islamic conquests of the 7th century CE, when Arabic language and Arab cultural frameworks spread across the Nile Valley They are an Indigenous people, in the Arab, Egyptian people cluster of the Arab Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Islam - Sunni. They primarily speak Arabic, Egyptian.
