They are an Austronesian ethnic group indigenous to the central and eastern part of the Indonesian island of Java and can also be known as Orang Jawa. They are an Diaspora people, in the Jawa people cluster of the Malay Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Islam - Sunni. They primarily speak Javanese.
