They are an ethnolinguistic group of China, Laos, Thailand, Myanmar, and Vietnam They are an Indigenous people, in the Tai people cluster of the Southeast Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Buddhism - Mahayana. They primarily speak Lü.
