The community claims to have come from north India to Warangal and then gone on the Bastar along with a ruler of the Kakatiya dynastyBhatra, Bhatta, Bhattri, Bhottada, भट्तरा They are an Indigenous people, in the South Asian Tribal people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Hinduism - Folk. They primarily speak Bhatri.
