They are a tribal subgroup of the Ta-oy people of southern Laos and can also be known as Ralok, Hadong, Halok. They are an Indigenous people, in the Mon-Khmer people cluster of the Southeast Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Ethnoreligion - Animism. They primarily speak Upper Ta’oih.
