Temple construction, masonry, and idol-making remain their principal occupations today They are an Indigenous people, with Sompura Salat as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the Brahmin people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Hinduism. They primarily speak Gujarati.
