The Sompura Salat of India, numbering approximately 22,000 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are described as a subgroup of the Sompura Brahmin of Gujarat once defiled through Jain philanthropy, distinguished from the Sompura Brahmin proper. Temple construction, masonry, and idol-making remain their principal occupations today They are an Indigenous people, with Sompura Salat as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the Brahmin people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Hinduism. They primarily speak Gujarati.
