The Sonavar of India, numbering approximately 20,500 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a Sunni Muslim community of Puducherry also called Musalman or Saheb, traditionally sellers of metal vessels and petty traders. Business and agriculture remain their principal occupations today. They are an Indigenous people in the Urdu people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Urdu and their primary religion is Sunni Islam.
