The Hansi of India

The Hansi of India, numbering approximately 35,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a weaving caste of Cuttack and Balasore districts in Odisha, also known as Bansi and Hansi Tanti. Their name derives from a traditional type of woven bed sheet. Most Hansi now work as cultivators. They are an Indigenous people in the Odia people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Odia and their primary religion is Hinduism.
