The Waidu of India

The Waidu of India, numbering approximately 18,500 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a seasonal wandering community of Sangli, Satara, Kolhapur, and Raigad districts, Maharashtra, who migrated from Karnataka, traditionally sellers of herbal medicines. Making tin containers and petty business now support most families. They are an Indigenous people in the Telugu people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Telugu and their primary religion is Hinduism.
