The Baida of India

The Baida of India, numbering approximately 800 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a formerly nomadic community of West Bengal whose name means "nomads," traditionally living by begging and selling indigenous medicines. They are also known as Bede or Bediya and trace their migration from the Chotanagpur region. They are an Indigenous people in the Bengali people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Bengali and their primary religion is Hinduism.
