The Maran Nairs of India, numbering approximately 476,000 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a community of Kerala performing death rites for the Nambuthiri Brahmin. The Maran Nair branched from the Marar who remain temple drummers. Cultivation and government service supplement this role. They are an Indigenous people in the Nair people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Malayalam and their primary religion is Hinduism.
