The Khandwal of India

The Khandwal of India, numbering approximately 12,500 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a warrior community of Bihar and Odisha's Mayurbhanj district whose name derives from khaund, sword. The Khandwal were once temple sacrificial officiants under the Dhalbhum Dhabal dynasty. Mostly landless, they now work as agricultural laborers. They mostly adhere to Hinduism and Bengali is their primary language.
