The Kattiakaran of India

The Kattiakaran of India, numbering approximately 113,000 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a Tamil-speaking community of Kanyakumari and Tirunelveli districts claiming descent from bodyguards of the Travancore kings, their name meaning knife-bearers. Once smelters of iron and steel, most are now agricultural laborers. They mostly adhere to Hinduism and Tamil is their primary language.

Pray specifically for the Kattiakaran of India

For the Son of Man came to seek and save the lost.
readLuke 19:10

Pray that those who are lost will respond to the One who came to seek and save the lost, and experience the joy of being found.

And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in him may have eternal life.
readJohn 3:14-15

Pray that the lost will look to Jesus lifted up on the cross and believe in Him, gaining eternal life with God.

And they all ate and were satisfied. And what was left over was picked up, twelve baskets of broken pieces.
readLuke 9:17

Pray that as people place their faith in Christ, they will meditate on the stories of Jesus' miracles, be in awe of Him, and trust Him for everything they need.

For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
readHebrews 4:12

Pray that God will make His living and active Word available to everyone in this people group so that many will respond to the gospel. Ask Him to provide Jesus-followers to walk with new believers as they grow in Him.
