The Thachanad Moopan of India, numbering approximately 3,100 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a community of Wayanad district, Kerala, who migrated from Nilambur in Malappuram district, traditionally hunters and honey-collectors. Animal husbandry and wage labor have largely replaced these traditional forest occupations. They are an Indigenous people in the Malayali people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Malayalam and their primary religion is Hinduism.
