The Vilkurup of India

The Vilkurup of India, numbering approximately 2,400 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a martial community of Thrissur, Ernakulam, and Kottayam districts, Kerala, traditionally trainers in archery and stick-fighting who supplied bows and arrows to the Travancore army. Carpentry and masonry now support most families. They are an Indigenous people in the Malayali people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Malayalam and their primary religion is Hinduism.
