The Halleer of India

The Halleer of India, numbering approximately 7,400 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a Scheduled Caste community of Uttar Kannad district in Karnataka and parts of Maharashtra, traditionally musicians and hunter-gatherers, now also agricultural laborers and cultivators. They are an Indigenous people in the Kanarese people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Marathi and their primary religion is Hinduism.
