The Bakuda of India, numbering approximately 8,900 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are described as a Tulu-speaking Scheduled Caste community concentrated in coastal Karnataka and northern Kerala, organized into matrilineal clans (bari) and traditionally engaged in agricultural labor. They worship spirits (bhuta) such as Guliga and their community They are an Indigenous people, with Bakuda as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the Other South Asian people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Hinduism. They primarily speak Tulu.
