The Yatibi of India

The Yatibi of India, numbering approximately 700 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a Scheduled Caste of Thoubal district, Manipur, formerly known by a name recalling expulsion from Meitei society for violating incest rules. Paddy and pineapple cultivation remain principal, supplemented by fishing and weaving. They are an Indigenous people in the Manipuri people cluster of the Himalayan Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Meitei and their primary religion is Hinduism.
