The Barika of India

The Barika of India, numbering approximately 82,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are an occupational barber community of Odisha, also known as Bhandari or Napit, traditionally serving an important role in the life-cycle rituals of other communities. They speak Odia, and many today hold government and white-collar jobs. They are an Indigenous people in the Odia people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Odia and their primary religion is Hinduism.
