They are a small agricultural Sheikh (Shaikh) community of northern India, predominantly found in western Uttar Pradesh. They are an Indigenous people, in the Shaikh people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Islam - Sunni. They primarily speak Urdu.
