The Gautam of India

The Gautam of India, numbering approximately 333,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are an Uttar Pradesh Rajput community tracing descent from the sage Gautam, divided into Chattri and Bhumihar branches, and traditionally landowning cultivators of wheat, jowar, and pulses. They are an Indigenous people in the Rajput people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Bhojpuri and their primary religion is Folk Hinduism.
