The Abdal of India

The Abdal of India, numbering approximately 34,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a widely distributed Sunni Muslim community whose name is said to mean "lieutenant," traditionally known for playing the tambourine, singing religious songs, and collecting alms. In Bihar they also work in leather crafts and animal healing. They are an Indigenous people in the Urdu people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Urdu and their primary religion is Sunni Islam.
