The Panniandi of India

The Panniandi of India, numbering approximately 24,500 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a Scheduled Caste of Periyar and Coimbatore districts, Tamil Nadu, who migrated from Andhra Pradesh, their name recalling their traditional piggery trade. Municipal scavenging has largely replaced piggery. They are an Indigenous people in the Telugu people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Telugu and their primary religion is Hinduism.
