The Narsanna of India

The Narsanna of India, numbering approximately 700 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a community of Kasaragod, Kerala, also called Pursanna, identified by a distinctive turban and long hair tied at the back. Bidi-rolling and wage labor have replaced mat-weaving and fortune-telling as their main occupations. They are an Indigenous people in the Other South Asian people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Marathi and their primary religion is Hinduism.
