The Chamar of Nepal

The Chamar of Nepal, numbering approximately 460,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are an immigrant community from India. While not indigenous to Nepal, the Chamars have a significant presence there and are considered one of the marginalized communities and can also be known as Das, Chambhar, Chamehar, Muchi, Harijan, Rehgar, Charmkar, Charmakar Rishi, Ram, Ravidas, Mochi, Ruidas, Jatav, Ramdasia, Rabidas. They are an Indigenous people, in the Chamar people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Hinduism. They primarily speak Nepali.
