The Godra of India

The Godra of India, numbering approximately 5,400 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a Scheduled Caste of Sambalpur district in Odisha, considered an offshoot of the Mahar, formerly sustained by hunting and forest produce before deforestation pushed them into wage labor and bamboo basketry. They mostly adhere to Hinduism and Odia is their primary language.
