The Badu of India

The Badu of India, numbering approximately 750 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a Hindu temple-service community attached to the Lingaraj temple in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, traditionally responsible for the care of the deity and temple property. Their origin is traced to the temple's erection in the thirteenth century. They are an Indigenous people in the Odia people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Odia and their primary religion is Hinduism.
