The Chiru of India

The Chiru of India, numbering approximately 8,300 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are described as a Scheduled Tribe of Manipur that migrated from the Chin hills, traditionally a landowning community practicing shifting and wet cultivation, now predominantly Christian though pre-conversion rituals still persist They are an Indigenous people, with Chiru as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the South Asian Tribal people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Protestantism. They primarily speak Chiru.
