The Chiru of India

The Chiru of India, numbering approximately 8,300 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a Scheduled Tribe of Manipur that migrated from the Chin hills, traditionally a landowning community practicing shifting and wet cultivation, now predominantly Christian though pre-conversion rituals still persist. They are an Indigenous people in the South Asian Tribal people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Chiru and their primary religion is Protestantism.
