The Hatkar of India

The Hatkar of India, numbering approximately 419,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a caste community of Parbhani and Beed districts in Maharashtra, a branch of the Dhangar shepherd caste. They are now primarily agriculturists and agricultural laborers. They are an Indigenous people in the Marathi-Konkani people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Marathi and their primary religion is Hinduism.
