The Sadri of Bangladesh

The Sadri of Bangladesh, numbering approximately 272,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a lingua franca people of Bangladesh's tea gardens, whose language emerged among tribal laborers recruited from India's Chota Nagpur region in the 1840s for British tea estates, uniting speakers of Santali, Kurukh, Odia, and Munda on the plantations. They mostly adhere to Hinduism and Sadri is their primary language.
