The Straits Salish of United States, numbering approximately 2,000 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are described as a Central Coast Salish maritime people of the Pacific Northwest, organized historically in kin-based, village societies centered on salmon fishing and marine resources, with a modern identity shaped by treaty-era consolidation and can also be known as Lummi Nation, Lummi Tribe of the Lummi Reservation, Lhaq’temish. They are an Indigenous people, with Salish as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the North American Indigenous people cluster of the North American Peoples. Their primary religion is Protestantism. They primarily speak English.
