The Micmac of Canada

The Micmac of Canada, numbering approximately 15,500 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are described as a Northeastern Woodlands people of Atlantic Canada organized into seven districts led by a Grand Chief, who intermarried with French Acadian settlers while resisting British encroachment, later signing Peace and Friendship Treaties from 1725 to 1779 They are an Indigenous people, with Micmac as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the North American Indigenous people cluster of the North American Peoples. They mostly adhere to Protestantism and Mi'kmaq is their primary language.
