They are described as a tribal community of the Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh, an umbrella designation for over thirty hill-dwelling groups, non-vegetarian, with diverse religious practices including traditional religion, Buddhism, and Christianity They are an Indigenous people, with Tangsa / Tangshang as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the Tangsa Naga people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Ethnoreligion. They primarily speak Naga, Tangshang.
