Traditionally town and city scavengers, today sweeping and farm labor are their main occupations They are an Indigenous people, with Paky, Thoti as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the Gond people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. They mostly adhere to Folk Hinduism and Telugu is their primary language.
