The Halsar of India

The Halsar of India, numbering approximately 15,500 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a Scheduled Caste community of coastal Karnataka districts, whose name derives from the Kannada word for child, traditionally cane-workers and carcass-removers, now largely wage laborers. They are an Indigenous people in the Marathi-Konkani people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Kannada and their primary religion is Folk Hinduism.
