The Thammadi of India

The Thammadi of India, numbering approximately 14,500 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a Karnataka community of Mysuru, Tumakuru, Mandya, Hassan, and Bengaluru districts, also called Archaka. Traditionally priests and flower-gatherers at Shiva temples, the Thammadi mainly continue in this role today. They are an Indigenous people in the Kanarese people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Telugu and their primary religion is Hinduism.
