The Amant of India, numbering approximately 244,000 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a caste community of Odia and Maithili speakers in Odisha and Bihar who traditionally worked as cultivators, servants and laborers. They are an Indigenous people, in the Bihari people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Hinduism. They primarily speak Maithili.
