The Aghori of India

The Aghori of India, numbering approximately 20,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a Maithili-speaking community of West Bengal's Purulia district who claim descent from Gowala milkmen and historically subsisted by begging and selling herbal medicines. They are organized into clans governed by a jati panch council. They mostly adhere to Hinduism and Maithili is their primary language.
