They are the principal indigenous people of the Nicobar Islands in the Bay of Bengal—part of India’s Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands and can also be known as Car Nicobarese. They are an Indigenous people, in the South Asian Tribal people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Christianity - Protestantism. They primarily speak Nicobarese, Car.
