The Pawi Mizo of India

The Pawi Mizo of India, numbering approximately 48,000 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a subgroup of the Mizo, also called Lai or Chin, settled in Chhimtuipui and Champhai in Mizoram, their name recalling the leopard's bravery in battle. Shifting cultivation remains primary. They are an Indigenous people in the Mizo people cluster of the Southeast Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Chin, Paite and their primary religion is Protestantism.
