The Chakravar of India

The Chakravar of India, numbering approximately 45,500 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a Tamil-speaking Hindu service caste of Kanyakumari district in Tamil Nadu and southern Kerala, traditionally serving as barbers to the Nadar community and as medicine men, with wives attending at childbirth. They are also known as Maruttuvar. They are an Indigenous people in the Tamil people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Tamil and their primary religion is Hinduism.
