The Salvi of India

The Salvi of India, numbering approximately 94,500 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a weaving community of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan, their name recalling the loom, renowned for patola silk-weaving brought from Maharashtra a thousand years ago. Weaving remains practiced, alongside business and labor. They mostly adhere to Folk Hinduism and Mewari is their primary language.
