The Mang Garodi of India

The Mang Garodi of India, numbering approximately 42,500 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a Scheduled Caste of Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, whose name recalls begging and the Brahminical kite garuda. Traditionally acrobats and mat-weavers, today wage labor, rickshaw-driving, and music now support most families. They are an Indigenous people in the Marathi-Konkani people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Marathi and their primary religion is Hinduism.
